Default GM 5L40-E Transmission Paired with 2JZ

I understand that this may be far-fetched, but I was reading about a Pontiac Solstice that had a 2JZ bolted right in with minimal modification other than a bell housing (HERE). This is apparently because the AR5 manual transmission that came with the Solstice is essentially the same as the R154, and for some mysterious reason, the engine mounts are pretty much the same.

I am now wondering for those looking to stay automatic, whether one could perform the inverse swap, where the automatic GM 5L40-E transmission from the Solstice Sky could be swapped into a our cars. I understand it may be silly and would be bad value, but from a technical standpoint could this be done?

Anything is possible really, so technically yes it can be done. But there will always be hidden issues, specifically with fitment and in the case of the auto also control of shifting without a manual valve body. But I see where you are going.
