Default valve cover gaskets, rockers and torque specs

Guys,
I've been cleaning up my engine bay on my 93 SC 400 a little at a time by pulling some parts cleaning and painting then reinstalling. I plan on pulling my valve covers and cleaning and painting them. Two questions. 1) when installing a new gasket should I also use some gasket sealant and if so any suggestion on type. 2) What is the torque setting on the valve cover bolts?

Now for mission creep. I have the oh so common lifter noise on the front of the driver side bank. I'm going to try and clean the lifters and rods. Does anyone know the torque spec and the rocker bolts.

Edit: Just remembered overhead cam engine no rockers and push rods. Any suggestions on eliminating engine ticking
