Sc300 with sc400 radiator problems
Havnt had the car running in my possession for longer than a few days. So originally I was unaware that it was an sc400 radiator I just thought I was the only one in the world with an SC300 with no radiator cap... Anyways I'm having problems I thought I had it topped off with water (front end on jack stands even had reservoir hanging from hood to make sure it was the highest point with engine running). Any ways I turned it off and let it sit awhile and it was puking up smelly brown water which I assumed was rust? I'm convinced that it's not being completely filled. Couple hours later drove it about 5 miles round trip to store shut it off and it was steaming. The dash says Temps are normal. Could it be clogged? I'm currently trying to get a sc300 radiator with a cap but no one in Houston wants to have an extra and sc300s are scarcely in junk yards that aren't picked bone dry.

Hmm interesting never heard of anyone using a SC400 rad in a SC3. Have you checked your thermostat? Your rad could be clogged. Also it could need a good flush. Mixing different coolants like the Toyota/Lexus Red with the Autostore Green can make that color as well. When your bleeding for air in the system make sure you have the heater set to the highest setting and top off as needed.
