Default I am so bummed. Tranny frustrations.

Oh this has been a frustrating year with my 400 down all year.

Story..

Tranny went bad on my driver. Lost 4th gear. Had the spare tranny from the project LS3/parts car.

Gave my buddy the tranny from the driver for a 1UZ older supra hes building.

A little time goes by and I am starting to install tranny from parts car, I notice the pan gasket has been siliconed.... Cant be trusted!

I get around to getting the tranny to a shop to be rebuilt. The guy asked me what it was doing. I tell him "I don't know its from my parts car".
He says we won't touch it because without knowing what was wrong with it they don't know what solenoids might be bad and no rebuild unless I replace all of them to a tune of about 2K plus the rebuild. Screw that!
I had 4 shops tell me basically the same thing.

8 months later. I find a engine and tranny from a 92 sc400 on Cl.

I snap them both up.
Get home excited, get the tranny on the lift and into the spot start hooking up the wires everything is great right until I try to hook up the driver side rear plug that is in the corner of the pan....
The new tranny has 8 wires at this plug and the old one has only 6.

Anybody overcome this problem?

I am so frustrated. I really wanted to swap this car to a manual but wife wont have it. Wouldn't have this problem..lol

Pulled the pans on both trannys and found out that the extra wires go to a temp sensor. So I simply swapped the harnesses. Installing it today.
