Default People who have TT Auto trannys, post your knowledge here

I have a 1997 sc300 with a 6262 turbo running on a 1997 supra tt ecu. I am looking to swap a tt auto tranny in but I want to hear from people who have done it already. What parts did you use? Was it a pain in the butt? Was there any fabrication involved other than the drive shaft? Please post your wealth of knowledge here. This seems to be a popular topic that never really gets answered. I have used the search button, but most of the answers end with questions, or comments telling the OP to go look at ClubNA-T.com which doesnt exist anymore.

I am already running an ECU that will control the transmission, I just want to know what else I will need.

Hopefully we can get some good information on here so we can make this a sticky?

I would assume if you already have the ecu, you would just need the tranny, torque converter, flex plate, bolts, and have it wired.

For now, just dropping one in. It can handle the power I am putting out for now. The tt ecu doesn't control the sc300 tranny perfectly without some intensive rewiring so I wanna swap in the transmission the ecu wants. If I had the money, I would go R154, but I don't and I won't anytime soon as all my money goes to tuition.

I'd love to hear what anyone can say on this as well. This is the same setup that I would like to run as well, but probably with a built auto. BL/Titan/ATF...

I would assume like the rest of the mod you just have to add the extra wiring, that is what they do with full gte swaps. a spare gte harness with the auto plugs on it already might be a worthy place to start.

so i compared both GE and GTE ecu pins and these are the pins that needs to be added to the GE harness.

7A - reverse indicator input
12 b- auto trans solenoid #5 (line pressure)
13b - auto trans solenoid #4 (engagement speed)
14b - auto trans solenoid #3 ( converter lock up)
21b - input shaft speed sensor signal
31b - auto trans solenoid # 5 (SLT +)
these are the pins that missing on the GE harness, now the only problem i have now is buying the pigtail plugs on the transmission side and also figuring out which wires goes to the plugs. if anybody has this info please post it, thanks in advance.
also if anybody has these pigtail plugs i need on the tranny side, PM me maybe we can work something out.

Just go manual if you have the funds, it's not worth it in my opinion...it maybe cheaper but unless you gonna pull the whole motor out to swap the trans it's a pita doing it inside the car on jack-stands.

It will work, depending you just have to do some wiring.

The main issue I ran into was trying to get the trans kick down on the aristo ecu..pita but with some wiring and trying a couple ecus you can get it to work.

Yea people just keep saying a little wiring is needed but doesn't say exactly what wiring is needed. Like stated above the GE harness is missing 2 or 3 extra plug connectors so ones I get those plug connectors and wiring diagram on where each wire goes on the ecu, then we can say it will work. But I'm just surprised that nobody ever tried controlling the TT tranny electronically.
