Mishimoto Aluminum Radiator
Which radiator is best to replace my 95 sc400. Does mishimoto carry for the sc400? :uh:

stock radiator is awesome.
Toyota over engineered the cooling system from factory. but if you want the look of an aluminum radiator, you can use the supra tt radiator. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/per...ator-pics.html |
I have a Supra TT Mishimoto radiator. You will need to buy a Supra fan shroud and also install an external transmission cooler and also a shroud bracket. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/att...0enginebay.jpg

^^ Yep to all of the above. Even the expensive OEM Supra TT radiator is an extremely reliable and strong unit. Fan shroud and external auto transmission cooler aside it is just cheaper to go with a Mishimoto or Koyo aluminum radiator swap.
2022 Edit Note: However for an SC400 1UZ-FE application the stock mechanical cooling fan and matching shroud have to be custom fitted to any aftermarket radiator designed for JZ engines. |
97 sc300 fan shroud
Will my fan shroud on my 97 sc fit ? Or do you have to buy the supra tt shroud ?

People have DIY modified their SC400 shrouds to fit the Supra radiator however. If you have an SC300 then you can re-use your factory fan shroud (I think the mounting tabs are the same but I don’t remember) or you can buy a Supra NA shroud, Supra TT shroud early type or Supra TT shroud later type. (TT Supra shrouds have an additional hole for a factory electric auxiliary cooling fan. 1 electric fan hole for the 1993-1996 type and two for the same type auxiliary fans for the 1997-2002 type. These fans were used on both the Supra and very early 2000's Prius). |
I will forever avoid Mishimoto. I had an aluminum radiator that leaked on me and two thermostats that failed, one resulting in a severe overheating event. Their products are not cheap and the failure is unacceptable for such pricey products.

Just a note to help extend the life of your radiator, i have for many many years run distilled water with my antifreeze. I speak from experience and have never seen anyone mention it on Club Lexus. Good Luck
