I know that there is probably a thread on here about this already. Only problem is that I can't seem to find one. Every MT swap thread I look at for an sc400 ends up being a sc300 or v6 post.
What transmission will fit to my 97 sc400 v8 engine? I am sick of my automatic transmission and want to swap. Will a W58 work? And if so where can I find the adapter kit?

There's some scattered about. Check the build threads. AFAIK there's no established "kit", but rather a sort-of-established "method".

w58 is the most common cz it's from a SC300, or a Mark IV supra, later year models are better and tripod ones are the best/easier to fit. there are adapter plates and "kits" on 1uzfeswapkit.com, best deal is to find a wrecked sc300 and just take everything u can including the pedals and dash trim piece and shifter and ur golden besides some parts like the adpater plate, maybe bellhousing, and some bearings or something. i'm looking into doing the same thing and that's all i know so far. heard it takes about a day or two, and maybe even less with a lift. hope this helps a bit. r154 fit too, but not as easily.

Search 'sc400 manual', 'sc400 w58', or 'sc400 r154' or use '1uz' instead of 'sc400' and you'll get lots of search results. There's a lot of threads about this out there.
