Default Will a mk4 Midpipe bolt into stock sc300 exhaust system?

question is, will a supra tt mk4 midpipe bolts onto the stock sc300 catback and headers?
im not asking if a mk4 exhaust fits a sc3, (theres a thread on it ive already seen it, and from it i can get an idea towards this question but not a complete answer so thats why im asking)

If i buy a mk4 midpipe, and if i remove my stock sc3 midpipe, will it bolt in perfectly? or is there some fabbing to be done?

becuase to be completely honest after seeing both stock and aftermarket midpipes, the supra mk4 and sc3 downpipes are a 100% match to my eyes, but i want to be completly sure that this will work before i make the order so i dont buy it for no reason.

so if you have info on this, or if you have done this please let me know!

thanks

I was under the impression that they are identical as long as its not a midpipe designed for the stock twins.

If you have an 02 sensor on your mid pipe I think you need to have a fitting fabbed if it applies to your year. Also if you have strict emissions you will be losing your cat so theres that.

I have a obd2 97 but I don't have an 02 sensor on mine so I'm not sure what years that applies too.

I thought it needed to be extended a few inches to fit the SC?

From what i know yes. But thats only for fitting an entire mk4 exhsust system. Only if yout looking to put on a catback with midpipe combo you have to extend either the catback or the midpipe 6" so they meet.

But what i am asking if if a sc3 and a mk4 midpipe are identical. Il post up pics shortly to show exactly what i mean

edit:

ok here it is, heres a sc300 midpipe, this is the header+midpipe combo

and here is a stock sc3 midpipe

and here is a supra tt mk4 midpipe:

sorry about the sizes lol
and yes i understand about the o2 bunge, thats outa the quesiton though, just focusing on fitment here

but it almost looks like the bend in the sc3 midpipe is more agreesive that the mk4 its a shorter bend

and this is one for sale a while back, it was described as obx headers for a supra and sc

heres the link to it: http://www.supraforums.com/forum/sho...upra-amp-SC300

I just saw a picture this week that showed them being exactly the same length but I can't find it. It was either in the build threads or main section.

Yes the stock sc300 midpipe is the exact same length and shape as a SINGLE TURBO MK4 midpipe.
obviously one for the stock twins bends up and has a different flange and not work.

The GE and GTE single turbo downpipe/midpipe are essentially the same pieces, and the midpipe flange location was taken from the N/A, so you can bolt up a single turbo downpipe to your stock midpipe and catback, or you can bolt up a single turbo downpipe and single turbo mk4 midpipe to your stock cat-back.
At first I just had the downpipe mated to the stock exhaust system, then I got a mk4 midpipe and welded a high flow cat into it and it bolted right in place of the stock midpipe.

Yea i definitely noticed that. The stock twins downpipe has a 3 bolt flange and the midpipe goes higher up.
Thank you so much im going to order my mk4 midpipe this weeknd!

Np, all of those single turbo mk4 midpipes seem to work there is enough flex on the hanger. I have a name brand one that I chopped up and put cats in, and then I have an ebay one that fits just as well that is straight through. I actually like the ebay one better because its stainless and quite a bit lighter than the old way the shops used to make the supra midpipes. The ebay one looks exactly like the SS one in that picture above posted its usually around a bill online.

Its nice how they did keep the flanges in semi-stock locations. I have a universal single turbo downpipe, to my supra midpipe, then to a Zees soarer dual catback exhaust from japan and it all bolts up!

and for future reference for anyone wondering which part from a supra you extend to fit in a SC, it is the catback section which is shorter on the supra and needs to be extended a few inches for use in the SC.

"catback" refers to an exhaust that goes from the cat, all the way back. Where exactly are you referring to?

For future references

Yes, the mk4 supra aftermarket midpipe, for single turbo (not twins) is exact to the sc300 stock midpipe

My exhaust is custom but uses all stock flange locations as the stock sc exhaust system. So yes this will fit perfectly in a sc300

downpipe > midpipe > catback. so the section of pipe after the midpipe where it does the "Y".

Golden it looks great, fits exactly like it should. also a good spot to stuff some cats into instead of the DP.
