Default wanting alittle more pep

Hi guys I have searched around here, throught the web, and eBay. My brother has a 99 v6 firebird he is planing on supercharging it. I don't want to go full out extreme all I want is just to keep up. My car is a 1994 auto sc300 has over 200k miles I want to Turbo it however I want low boost I guess like 5 to 7 psi. But not touch anything in the motor or computer just basically bolt in on and go. What parts would I need I have seen without intercooler so I guess I can do without. Thank you very much in advance.

Don't skimp on the turbo build...I'd start with a compression test and make sure the car is up on its maintenance before talking turbo.

Thanks guys for the info I don't know how good the compression is rite now. I do know there is a oil leaks from the distributor, lower oil pan, and probably around the valves. Its not alot no dripping just residue. So if you do any form of Turbo you have to tinker with the ecu, I have seen something when I had a 94 celica gt a Turbo kit that produced low enough boost to run stock ecu. Is it possible for me to build my own kit if you guys gave the basic needs list to do it. I got two kids and its my DD so I got to put this kit together piece by piece and do it in like a day maybe two can't afford car gone long

I think you are in for a lot more time and expense than a days worth of work.

Where should I start tho should I test my motor first or start collecting parts then test, also if I were to send my ecu to jet would that be a problem going Turbo, and if I do a engine swap would it be cheaper in the long run if so which engine remember I'm not going all out

Ur going to need to see how the motor is since it has 200k. I would consider throwing a 1jz-GTE and jus running it on stock twins. But it would prolly end up coming close to the same price when it's all said and done.

you can just order a full swap and you should be good but You want to replace all the seals and belts, plus you need a inner cooler and maybe new ecu caps. then maybe a manual trans like v160 or r154
then a diff low gear like 3.7 or even a 3.13 gears, then you have to special order a drive shaft. the list will go on really

Okay yea I'm sorry but that's just to much, I got loads of respect for all of you who done it or in the process. I'm just gonna do pulleys, exhaust, ram air intake, jet ecu upgrade, and refresh the engine with nitrous I got two bottles in my garage. But like I said loads of respect for you all but ill have to wait till I hit the lottery lol.
