To fix or sell, that is the question?
So here I am.a yr and a half later and 22k miles driven in my car. It's my daily and does what I need it to do reliably. I have replaced two ignition coils a new radiator a PVC valve idler pully and drive belt. I now have decided i want ac. When I bought the car I'd didn't work. Previously owner converted and then said the compressor went and didn't want to fix it as he had just put over a G into it. Car came with all the records of work done and the price was right so I took it anyways. All that to say should i fix the AC or sell it and buy one with a working AC system? Worst case scenario what would it cost? Best case what would it cost?
Thanks again guys you have all been a great help in all the things I have done myself.
Also if I decide taking on AC how hard is it to fix, knowing what I done is it something I should undertake or take it to a professional ?

If you can recoup most of your cost sell it and get a newer sc with r134a system. If you cannot recoup most of the cost then fix it and stay with r12. Your ac system was designed for r12 not r134a. Converted system will never cool as well as full r12. It will cost a little more but you can still find r12 at shops. I still run it on my 22 yr old Z. Looks like you should take it to a pro but it'll cost $1000+ for full ac rebuild
