Default 95 sc 300 power steering fluid disappears

I have a 95 sc 300. I bought the car with this problem. The power steering does not work. I pour the atf fluid in and when I start the car, theres is white smoke. But now my power steering is working. After driving it for a couple days, there's still white smokes and now the power steering fluid is empty. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

Where is the white smoke coming from? Any leaks around the PS area?

White smokes coming from the exhaust. No leaks around the ps area. Its like the ps fluid is being burned and coming out the exhaust......

2 possibilities would explain this.

1.) the leak is in the hydraulic fan motor circuit. The fan speed is dampened by the power steering system. But that would mean you could see a leak near the radiator or on the fan. Which would mean the white smoke is an unrelated issue

-or-

(the one I am thinking.)

2.) There is an air control valve on the pump is faulty and allowing fluid to suck into the intake.
which can be inspected by removing the vacuum line and looking for oil.

It would be a simple fix - replace valve.

Sounds like a winner. It's not the hydro fan, since the 300 does not use one

Yeah I also believe this is what your problem is. I recently had to do a lot of work on my power steering system . I didn't have this problem but I remember reading about it when diagnosing other problems. Good Luck
