Kaboooyaaa !!!!!!!!

This is what I wife sent me a picture of this morning. She saw it on Facebook. Anyone knows any more details. I have seen some motors tore apart, but nothing like this....

I heard of cracked engine blocks but this one takes the cake. Looks like the upper oil pan got thrashed too, I'd like to know more details too.

My buddy is a big Vette man. He pointed this out to my wife and she sent it to me. I always tell him how strong 2JZ motors are, he thought it was funny.

Lol wow.. No iron block just breaks in half unless there is a ton of stress, must have been mostly user error.

1JZPWRD Oct 7, 2013 10:55 AM

My first thought was a 200 shot of NOS. I wish I knew first hand what happened. I am rather curious.

Someone probably purposely split that block. It was possibly already trashed and they just thought it'll be cool to go Moses on it and post a pic..

Ali SC3 Oct 7, 2013 12:12 PM

Must have taken some major effort there, I would think that didn't happen in the car, but I bet if you keep dropping it from high enough with an engine lift it would eventually split somewhere.

Maybe they dropped it off the Chinese harbor freight hoist? Haha j/k I used the $99 one forever.

Looking at the pic, it is obvious what happened. The oil pan has a hole it and all the oil must have leaked out.

I would cry :egads:

Hmm I thought I seen this picture in someone's build thread a long time ago, not sure if it was on here or supraforums.

Vrank Oct 8, 2013 05:02 AM

That's supraforums type carnage. Prob wouldn't have happened if they'd have filled the block with cement.

Stock Main cap broke car was making about 1100whp automagic car..

Ali-it happened in the car last year a couple days before WCF at MIR.

It's a built motor , the vibration from the crank killed it at higher rpm...

Ali SC3 Oct 8, 2013 03:22 PM

wow for that to happen in the car is impressive, wouldn't want to be driving that when it went.

jwin Oct 8, 2013 08:49 PM

the AE86 El humilde which runs 6.40's cracked a block in half like that as well. Its not unheard of but you have to put it through serious abuse to break an iron block in half like that.
