Complete 350z trans swap 2jz
So the past few months I have been working on this swap and its complete.
This kit is from Maverick motorsports sil8ty@gmail.com it does not use some crazy adapter for the clutch and the plate has tappered holes and bolts to help center the plate. Its made from T6 aluminum. Here are some pics I took while I was installing the trans in to my car. http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps4b2fe142.jpg http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps7c824893.jpg http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps8aa25023.jpg Everything fit great trans is very centered It looks like i will have to trim my shifter hole out about 1 inch back nothing major. |
Looks freakin awesome! Thanks for posting it up. How will you get the speed sensor signal to work with our cluster?
|
Would think a dekota digital box using the abs sensor. I dont have a speedo in my car.
|
Emailed them, They're using the adapter plate and a custom clutch/flywheel that bolts directly to the engine. Seems like a better idea than the flex plate to flywheel adapter.
|
What clutch are you running?
I can tell it's a spec lcutch, but what trans /engine was it made for? What TOB are you running? Everything looks legit!! I like you setup more. |
I would say to email sil8ty@gmail.com for any Info on this kit. But everything bolts together like a factory unit except it has the adapter plate. My throw out bearing is a factory nissan one.

:thumbup:nice setup
|
nice, i like the aluminum adapter plate. so you are using an extra thick flywheel to use the stock throwout bearing then i am assuming? i guess that's one way to go. i am interested in seeing what you end up doing with the shifter, i am messing around with mine right now.
|
I would not say that its extra thick its a billiet piece and super light I feel that this is really the proper way to do the clutch set-up.
My shifter lookslike it is very close to the stock auto shifter hole so I will just trim the hole back the 1 inch I need. to get to that point maverick motorsports shortened my stock shifter to the shortest point they could. you can see where it sits in this pic. http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps014e131d.jpg You can see how much shorter the shifter bracket is in this picture. http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps7c824893.jpg |
2 Attachment(s)
yeah that is exactly where mine is sitting as well, but if you care about your center console you will have to do some tricks to the shifter. here is a pic of where my shifter output sits:
Attachment 499255 here is the center console put on Attachment 499256 as you can see they don't exactly line up :) Marko |
How much did you cut out of the shifter bracket and shaft?
Also my car is fully gutted and caged no console |
Nice setup!

Very nice! I like these transmissions being a former Z33 owner
|
Would it be possible to have the shifter modified to fit in the correct location?
