Question 2JZ water pump question

so apperently lexus has to complicate things by having the water pump with 2 different bolt patterns, how do i tell which one i need to order without tearing it apart. cause its gonna take a couple days to get it in once i know which one it is. i have a 1993 sc300 with a factory 5sp.

There should only be two types for 2JZ-GE engines:

One for 1992-97 non-VVT-i and one for 98-00 VVT-i (and any 2JZ-GE IS300 or GS300 until 2005).

You should try looking it up in Carson's Trademotion system with the part numbers you have or just identify your car by year and model.

There is no difference in the engines whatsoever for automatic or 5-speed cars *other* than the ECU and lack of traction control wiring and some other minor harness wires. All mechanical components are the same.

well when i call napa or autozone for it they ask does it have 10 bolts or 11 bolts. i checked that website and it doesnt specify which one is which. im about to just sell this car cause its been nothing but a headache since i got it. i Really dont want to tear it apart just to count how many bolts it has on it then wait a week for it to come in,

sounds like morons work in your auto parts store.. gte and ge are different and i think vvti one is different if you gave them your year and make they should have one part number.. only way they have two would be if one was the front water pump or if they have one including the rear section too.. why dont you take yours apart and take it off and see how many bolts if they are too dumb to find it?

Wow that thread said it should be 10 bolts, i just got off the phone with my brother and he said its 11 bolts. He replaced it 3 years ago. im just gonna call a toyota dealership and see what they say. i would take it all apart if i had the time to pull it apart and a second car to go to the auto parts store. its just a major hassle.
