If the ECU gets a temp (overheat) it will send the car to limp mode.
Also have you disconnected the battery terminal to reset the ECU???

yes I have disconnected the battery to reset the ecu.

I wired the check engine light tonight and went for a test drive in order throw a code and I had the low engine oil light come on, but did not throw the check engine light. I checked the oil level and its fine. ugh its getting worse and worse for me.

update: I pulled all the coil packs again to look them over, they look fine no cracking anywhere they look good. and yes I know that dosent mean much but I wanted to see. also check my knock sensor plugs and connections, again everything looks good. im gunna replace the temp sensor monday.

the coolant sensor that sends the signal to the dash has absolutely zero to do with the way the engine runs/performs. And tap to ground method, wtf is that? you take the 1 wire temp signal wire and send it to the same place the ge 1 wire temp signal went. grounding anything is completely wrong, 100%.

update; replaced and re pinned the water temp sensor, and nothing has changed. i wish there was a reputable shop in chicago i could take this thing.
