Question Trading oil leaks - SC400

I replaced the oil pressure sensor on the head of the oil filter housing because it was leaking out of the sensor itself - as I was installing the new sensor, I heard a 'click' or 'crack' of some sort and felt the sensor loose some tightness all at once - the oil appears to now be leaking from the thread...damnit

I didn't think I was overtightening it - I gave it some more to try and overcome what may have happened and of course it didn't get much tighter - I put some thread tape on it before I installed it

I haven't removed it yet to see what is actually going on but I'm thinking I stripped the thread
What are my options here?
Replace the housing?
Remove the housing and re-tap the thread?
Silicone sealant?

I would prefer to have anything I may need before I tear back into it
Just wondering if anyone had made this repair before and what were your experiences
TIA
