Na-t tt ecu single turbo a/f's

Hey guys, finally got my uego replaced and have something to monitor a/f ratios.

Im interested to know what kinda a/f's you guys are running on the Na-t tt ecu setup.

My car has run great on a 67 for about a 12k miles and now a 61mm feels great too, got the wideband hooked up and seems to bounce around kind funny going into boost, getting very lean but progressively getting richer all the way to 11.0 when I hit around 14psi.

Idle is about 15 and cruise is very rich

I imagine with a tune it would feel awesome, cause I have zero complaints right now about driveability

So whats are you guys getting at

-Wot
-cruise
-going into boost
-idle

glad to hear its running good, does it get leaner than 15 when it bounces around?
maybe check your map sensor line it shouldn't bounce around really.

with my RC 440's mine is staying at 14.8-15 idle and cruise, then once getting into boost its around 14 and somewhere around 5 psi or so it just goes really rich and by the time I am at 14 psi its a solid 10.0.

I agree that it should not bounce around really at all going into boost. My car became smoothly, and progressively richer when I matted it and built boost.

k so I had the vacuum line at the rail off :egads:

now its really bouncy between 14.5-15 on cruise, Sometimes it has weird lean spots going into boost, but for an extremely brief moment and pegs straight to 10.5 once full boost comes on

Its weird, ill have to try and take a video. I have a feeling my 140k o2 sensor should be replaced and ill prolly run better

with my auto getting worn down I find flat spots if I don't drive it correctly that ill be really lean but I tend to avoid lugging an auto ever if you know what I mean.

Yeah, replace that o2. My car would surge really lean at low loads until the car was up to temp, and it turned out to be the o2. Once I replaced it, the car ran perfect hot or cold.

yeah I dropped in a new o2 when I did it so never had those problems. I can believe it though the gte ecu relies heavily on that o2 sensor, and i am always surprised how quick it finds 14.8 when warmed up with a narrowband sensor. I imagine if it was getting a bad reading it would be all over the place.

yeah, right now i get 14.5-15.3 on idle and around there cruising. Pegs to 10.5 as soon as i go full boost though. Sometimes it seems a little lean during spool, what are you guy's numbers while spooling?

99SC42 Jun 25, 2013 09:12 AM

^^Yeah mine does the samething, 14.5 to 15.8 at idle will pop a little bite sometimes ..10.0 in boost i have an aftermarket FPR set at 40psi.

I am changing the 02 sensor this weekend!

Ali SC3 Jun 25, 2013 09:54 AM

sounds about right, it doesn't richen up until you are already in boost but I think thats how its designed to increase spool and avoid wasting gas when you just sort of hover around a couple psi in regular driving. I don't think there is much chance of detonation on even a high compression motor at 5 psi or so, and after that it seems to get pretty rich so all is good although I am not sure exactly where it goes rich the boost gauge goes so fast and I don't have logging anymore.. lol.
Quick I think your o2 sensor is fine I have a brand new one in there it does the same thing.

99SC42 Jun 25, 2013 10:22 AM

That's the only thing i didn't like about that ecu..I have know people with single stock twins never had this poping issue...not sure why it pops with single turbo.

Ali SC3 Jun 25, 2013 01:41 PM

oh I meant the air fuel, mine doesn't pop at all at idle, sounds smooth as ever. maybe your plug range is too cold or there is some other issue. you check under the coil boots for cracks it is the gte coils right.

99SC42 Jun 25, 2013 01:57 PM

My plugs were gapped to 0.28, i will replace the boots on the coils and see if it make a difference...

If it happens to be the coils , i will just install my lq9 and install the aem.

Ali SC3 Jun 25, 2013 02:00 PM

yeah with that gap you should be fine, its not the boots on the gte coils, check the plastic under the boot on the coil itself, if the plastic on the edge has a crack you can have misfires. lq9 is always nice but you know I am a vvti fan. I even like the idea of using 6 2zz coilpacks. they are internally ignited supposed to be pretty good and I think work with a stock ecu.

sj408 Jun 25, 2013 02:21 PM

For the price i got my vvti coils i wouldnt wanna bother, think i payed 100-something for 3 oem coils.

but yeah gonna order a new 02 sensor and see if it helps it run better, though it runs great as is.

now i have some weird ghost where when i turn the signal on or hit my brakes ALL my lights dim out. cant figure it out other than im using an 80 amp alternator

oh and for what its worth i dont have popping on mine. Gapped at .32 with ngk platinums

Anyone know where the thread for the 2jz-ge/tt ecu mod is?
