Why want SC300 turnover?????
Ok as some of you may have read on an earlier post Im looking at buying a 92 SC300.
The guy said the reason it wouldn't start was because it needed an ECU he also said it only had a 135k miles. Anyways today I go to buy the car and took a new battery and an ECU out of a buddy of mines car that was working. So I get the ECU plugged in and turn the key and the first thing I notice is it has 176k miles on it and then the engine want even spin.... Nothing... He was asking 1000 for it which would have been a good deal with the amount of work I would have to do to the interior but without it even turning over it wasn't worth it to me so I told the guy to call me back when he got it turn over. I did notice the key I was trying to start it with was broken and just had the metal part but even if the 92s are chipped keys wouldn't it still turn over???? Any ideas I would appreciate it.

if the starter will click but engine wont turn over there isnt a circuit making it to the engine. check the battery terminals for heavy corrosion, take them off and use something like a wire brush to clean em.
if the terminals are clean, it could just be an ecu and in cali there is a person who rebuilds them (posting on craigslist all the time) and it COULD be worth it.
if its not the terminals though, i probably wouldnt mess with it personally. too much of a possible head ache and money pit to start from imo.
