Hello fellow SC brothers! It is a great day, I wanted to install an intake on my SC400 and since mine is a 2000 with the newer uz, there werent many options for this car. It was either the BFI, the SRT intake(which is hard to come across and really expensive or the K&N intake for the GS400? Reason I put the question mark is because I did not think this was gonna work. I decided to buy it and no matter what I was going to make it work. The power steering Reservoir on these cars I feel is located in a very bizarre way, I feel it was somewhat of a design flaw, its just too big and takes up too much room. Anyway, The intake did not fit as is, I had to relocate the power steering reservoir and buy new vaccum hoses(a bit longer than original). Once I relocated it which was not by much the intake sat pefectly! The only thing that did not fit was the heat shield that came with the kit but to me that was not a big deal, I will probably buy a smaller one. The intake works great, sounds great and fits great. The growl is astonishing, it sounds like an M3(the v8 one of course) when you punch it, it really does enhance the driving experience and I do feel the power gains. Anyway, I am really proud of this because I searched and searched and I found a thread on this here on CL but it seems the dude just mentioned doing it and following up but it doesnt seem like he ever got to it, so here you go uz-fe vvti owners and anyone else that might appreciate this here is the masterpiece!

Looks good! Nice to have another option for us vvti owners.
I have the BFI, which works great, but I always figured if I went the K&N or SRT route I would just re-bend or custom make my own pipe to fit (I have a few pipe welder friends).

Would be curious to see some dyno numbers with the K&N when compared to the BFI and SRT intakes.

Fonzonpin92, still would like to know where your MAF is located on your K&N mod?

The MAF is located right by the manifold. Your supposed to take it out from the original intake box and since there is a little bit of play, it comes with a gasket that K&N supplies you to make it fit right

Your right, which is why Im thinking about getting a 90 degree silicone coupling and pointing the filter down more towards the inlet of cold air, should be better....
