Upgraded throttle body on 2jzgte, what tps/tps issues

I have a 1997 SC300 with the 2jzgte swap done.
Recently swapped out the intake manifold.
Changed throttle bodies and added the Greddy TPS Adapter.
I have a TPS from the Trac control going the correct way.

Does this TPS just plug and play?

Do I have to reverse the wiring? from 1-2-3-4 to 4-3-2-1

Right now it has the wiring reversed and it starts up, goes great until the turbos are spooled then it seems like its not delivering the power....
Like it's running rich but not blowing smoke.

Ideas on proper TPS wiring/hookup or is this one of the lines being installed wrong on the intake manifold?

Using 89452-33010 TPS

Moved to correct forum.

Why would you use the trac tb? According to diagrams, try re-pinning it completely backwards as you stated earlier. Should do the trick if it's compatible. If it doesn't, use the primary tps like you should have in the first place.

Vrank, thanks for the input but I wish it were that easy.
The 2jz-gte TPS goes revers from the butterfly of the throttle body upgrades (q45, ebay, titan, etc)
The 2jz-gte Trac control (on the opposite side of throttle body) goes the same way however does not bolt up as it's a completely different piece
shown here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/att...1&d=1326413181

the 2jz-ge TPS goes the correct way, and fits the 2jz-gte harness, and with the Greddy adapter bolts right up.

The question I'm having is the normal instructions shown here:http://www.turboimport.com/tech/q45_to_2jzgte_tps.htm
speak of the TRAC tps which I believe I have the "normal" tps from a 2jzge not the trac tps off a 2jzgte sooo... I wouldn't reverse the wiring?

when i use q45 tb and greddy tps adapter , i use ge tps as it rotates the correct direction .. thats what i use on my own car

udfxrookie 05-09-13 04:38 AM

And using the ge tps, no cutting of the wires is needed, just straight plug and play?

on a gte harness using a q45 throttle body with an n/a tps (same as gte trac control tps), I am pretty sure you have to flip all 4 wires in the tps connector.

the outer 2 pins are power and ground, so when using a tps that turns the opposite way, you need to swap the outer pins so the resistance sweep goes the correct direction. The middle 2 pins are the idl circuit and the actual tps signal, and for those to work properly you have to also swap them as well.

So basically you swap the outer pins and the inner pins, and thats a big 4 wire reversal right there and now you know why!

see how the pins are reversed for the main tps ad sub tps.

New update:
The TPS is good... hooked it up with wiring reversed... car starts idles great... hit about 20mph and when the boost is created its like it loads up, and nothing bogs out

hooking the TPS up the normal way = same results
running car completely WITHOUT TPS = same results

TPS has voltage coming in and going out on vta but idl pin has nothing

All ECU wires are tight... nothing loose there but its like the ECU doesn't care its there....

Getting AEM v2 put in next week so it'll take care of the problem... but I have no daily driver till then =( ideas?

vvti aristo being drive by wire probably needs different values than non vvti. Not positive, but those ecus are weird. If you have a q45 tb might as well sell the adapter and just snag a q45 tps for next to nothing if you're going aem.

All issues solved, the knock sensor was the issue. Fixed.
Car now shifts three gears by 30 mph (automatic) then creeps up in speed...
TPS adjustment?

even when WOT? yeah calibrate your tps and go from there.

udfxrookie 05-10-13 05:06 PM

Yup... even WOT =(

I have the greddy tps adapter with the 2jzge tps wired in reverse.
I am still getting code 41.
Does the other tps (2jzgte trac control) that I removed have to have the wiring spliced into the tps thats on or just left to hang?

You need to learn how the drive by wire stuff works. one is a pedal position sensor, one is the actual throttle (plate) position sensor. You're pissing your ecu off. Stop it.
