Default 93 lexus sc400 Rumbling sound from the transmission or engine

I have a 93 lexus sc400 with about 300,000 miles on it. and the problem with this car is that when I started it up from cold it starts up normal, but when I first drive it around until the car engine heats up to normal temperature it drives perfectly normal with no sound. As soon as I hit the clutch to accelerate just about 5 min when the car engine is in normal temp there is a rumbling sound coming from the transmission or near the rear of the engine compartment. I don't know what it is but its driving me crazy. It mostly makes that rumbling sound when I'm driving uphill, but when I'm going downhill the sound stops. I recently did a transmission and oil change but still keeps making that rumbling sound every time the car engine temp goes to normal and going uphill. Does anyone know what the trouble is??

I'd say transmission mount. I'm about 90% sure it is, my 400 had the same symptoms - fixed with a new mount. My only uncertainty is that I don't have a manual car and it may be something to do with the transmission itself.

PS: replace your engine mounts while your at it. It'll feel like your driving a whole new car.

If the tranny hasn't been touched for the past 300k, I'd say it's grinding you're hearing. Otherwise, check up on suspension, tranny mounts, and engine mounts.

It's more like a grinding, rumbling sound coming from the transmission area every time I accelerate uphill
