Default Tensioner possibly dying?

So on a cold start I get a chatter sorta noise. Almost like belt squeal, but not quite. The old belt looked to be in great shape, but I swapped it for a new one about a month ago. This stopped the noise for about 1.5 weeks. Strange part is it gets quieter as the car warms up and at a certain temp there is no noise. The pulleys are all spinning fine and freely with the belt off. Could this be a sign of my actual tensioner going out? Could it be something else that I am missing?
