Default sc300 noob - need confirmation for mkiv supra gte swap.

Hi All,

after reading a lot of separate threads about the gte swaps I would like to ask your help in confirming that what I understood is correct. most threads I found are related to the aristo gte hence this thread.
I have sourced a JDM 1995 2jzgte off a 42k mile supra complete with harness, ecu and all ancillaries and a r154 (with all the required parts to do the MT swap and mate it to the gte).
Got this all from yahoo auctions japan.

I just bought a 80K mile 1992 sc300 and am going to put it in.
Appreciate your assistance.
1) The mkiv supra gte is physically a drop in affair
2) I will need to extend some wires and move some pins on the body harness plug. otherwise with the MT supra ecu I shouldnt need anything else. (moving to aftermarket ecu in a couple of months.)
3) I will need a tach signal converter so the stock rpm gauge will work (although replacing it with a aftermarket gauge later.
4) will need to replace hydro fan? does the jdm mkiv gte have one? - I believe it doesnt.
5) Marlin VSS - I will need this for the speed signal.
6) anything else to get a running car?

Thanks in advance.

info on tach mod, resistor you bypass will depend on the year of your SC.
