Default NA-T intake ideas

posting this here for a broader view.

has anyone ever played with the idea of an intake manifold that is fed from the bottom?

no picture of what i mean but instead of having the charged air go across the top of the engine/hot side of the turbo pass it through the intercooler and come into intake from underneath so it hits all ports equally.

i only ask because i have seen some instances of number 6 running lean. any thoughts on the subject?

toyota does this on fwd motors alot. It's possible as there is space if you can go around the motor mounts, but oil changes may be really difficult without relocating the filter. I see alot of custom work.

Sounds like more work then its worth, if youre gonna go to that extent, just tune for that possibility.

when a FFIM with a large enough volume is pressurized it pretty much delivers the same amount of air to each cylinder, assuming equal runners entering the FFIM, which is why all the aftermarket FFIM's of various designs work so well. At lower pressures or in vacuum, yes there is a difference across the cylinders, but the mighty JZ doesn't case about what happens out of boost because it can tolerate a much wider range of AFR's when out of boost.

also when in boost you always tune in a little safety factor, never tune on the edge of acceptable afr's.

here is an idea I had started and put on pause a few years ago, I had an extra upper so I removed all the butterfly parts.
My plan was to find and mount some sort of dual throttle bodies, but I never figured out which ones would work and fit.
you can kind of see where 2 throttle bodies can fit.

If anyone has a good suggestion I may just resume the project. Dual throttle body Na-t would just be all kinds of fun.
