Window goes down not up

Window goes down not up
Read a few blogs on window regulator but when i dismantle the door, i found I could push the window up if i also pushed the window button. At the top it may slide down at any time or i can push the botton and it will go down as it should. However then it will not go up. The slider bar and the nylon plastic block operate as they should and the window is attached to the plastic block. Why does it go down with the button but not up?? Is this still a regulator problem??
