Default What oil you guys running?

Before i get hounded, i did do search and didnt really find a dedicated discussion on oil.
So! My question is what oil you guys using non-vvti & vvti? I was looking at royal purple. Any of you guys using the purple or any other oils can you chime in? which would be the best to use?

2000 ES300 - Castrol 5W-30 for many years.
2005 LS430 - probably the same, haven't done oil change yet.

Technically, you can use 5W-30 at any mileage. It all depends on your engines oil consumption. Go a little bit thicker to lessen the oil consumption. I bought my SC and the previous owner used 10W-30 because he said there's a minor oil leak. But it does consume a significant amount of oil at high speeds... 90+ mph, heavy acceleration, although not enough to produce white smoke at any time. I was thinking of going to 5W-30....

I'm nonVVTi btw.

I have used Castrol for every car I have ever onwed. Always will. Currently using 5W-30 in my SC with a 1JZ swap. I also live in a hotter climate than most. I think the type and weight of oil depends on where you live. JMO.

Castrol is my preferred oil, I used Royal Purple once on another car it was pretty good
I got to try Amsoil or Redline one of these days.

German Castrol 0W-30 - 1JZGTE

edit: I've used the royal purple twice and it broke down so fast, the detergents in it I feel is what adds to the breakdown.. The Mobile 1 isn't what it once was to me and used it for most of the life of the swap..
Since doing research, I liked the characteristics of the German Castrol.. Doesn't breakdown as fast as the other oils I used.. I don't change my oil anymore at 3K intervals.. upwards of 4K.. and the oil still looks clean..

if you do a search here, I believe there is some nice input (personal opinions) on oils.. Supramania has a very nice article on oils and its characteristics etc..
