Default Buying sc400 pumpkin, how can I tell it's legit?

Im trying to buy a 92-96 sc400 rear end, the one with 3.92 gears. Is there anyway I can tell visually that it truly is the rear end im looking for? Maybe counting the teeth? Can anybody shine some light on this for me?

Thanks,

Lee

Count the rotation of the pinion in relation to the axle tulips but spin it from the tulips not the pinion as it's an open diff and use both hands to rotate them evenly.

Tulips? As in where the axle would bolt up to?

So the 3.92 would rotate less correct?

if you take off the back plate it will have the number of teeth stamped with a circle around it right on the gear.. imo save up and get an lsd..swap in a 3.26 from a gs

3.26 might be too long for my liking. But I would hop on a 3.76 tt LSD rear if I could find one. But for now, I will just stick to the 3.92 rear. Currently have a 4.27 in it :/

if its on a car and your taking it from the yard, certain years have certain gearing, otherwise you will have to count teeth and calculate

I thought all sc400's from 92-96 had 3.92 gearing? At least that's what I found from all the searching I did.
