Default lots of blow by

heyyyyyyyyy

so I have a ton of blow by and some blue smoke.

also did a compression test

cyl 1: 100 psi
cyl 2: 110 psi
cyl 3: 190 psi
cyl 4: 165 psi
cyl 5: 180 psi
cyl 6: 175 psi


yay......so what do you think, rings, landings, head gasket (hope so)

input is appreciated

just put some oil in the 2 low cyls.

cyl 1: 155 psi
cyl 2: 148 psi

Sounds like piston rings if the numbers came up that much with the oil.

Ive got some stock pistons from a 92. But you may just need a ring set, not entire pistons. Put some oil in the cylinders and retry the compression test.

My bet is rings.

Try some motor oil additive that claims to free rings and see if it helps. Did this just start?

GE or GTE?

If GE, unbolt motor mounts, throw engine in garbage

find $1000 1J or $1500 2J at engine importers

reverse uninstall method

smile again

lol, turning to the darkside. I would just add oil and turn up the boost before doing that (kidding)
you could just go with a good GE longblock. maybe just buy a whole sc300 that needs some body work.

do a leakdown test first. had these kind of horrendous numbers in my rb20. but no oil though.

thanks for the input. fyi i got it up to temp and drove it around, when i was done, I found coolant in my oil, an vise versa, any chance this could be a bad HG?
