Bushings replaced or entire rack and pinion?
Picked up a 96 SC300, which seems to have the ever present steering issue. In this case, will I need to replace the entire rack and pinion or would it be safe to just get the bushing kit from Daizon to repair it?
Doesnt appear that Im leaking any fluids from the pump.

Well, I mean... does that usually solve the steering issue that these cars seem to suffer from?
(Excellent idea, though, think Im gonna do just that, lol)

Ok, sounds good. I dont see any fluids coming from anywhere, and I do hear a `clank` from the passenger side when I turn the steering wheel to its locks... which kinda screams bushings to me. Is there any way to tell if the whole steering rack needs replacement due to a leak? Apart from obviously, installing the bushings and driving it.
LKQ is doing 50% off everything till Sunday, and the bushings will take a few days to get here. I dont wanna miss out if I need the rack... but dont wanna just throw $50 on having a spare (that I have nowhere to store)

Yeah there is a way to check. There's tons of info on this already if you did a research. Remove the clamps of the boot on the inner tie rod side, move it to see the inside, if there's fluid in the boot then there's leak. If there's a clunk, your lower control arm bushings might be done as well. And yes, it's also a common problem.
