Default Automatic Headlight Question

I like the convenience of the automatic headlights. However I have one thing with it. Does the headlight go off without having to open the door or flipping the switch? I sometimes park and turn the car off but sit in the car for a bit, never notice my headlights go off until I open the door or flip the switch.

Also, I get a feedback in my speakers when the headlights turn on either manually or automatic. Just a single static tick in the speakers when they come on. I have HIDs.

You have to open the door to disconnect the circuit. I looked for that option with no luck.
