So I made my cable and used a Db9-USB adapter. I'm not getting any readings or feed back. When I do the inversion test It flashes 1 and 0. Any tips?

Did you build the 3 wire cable or the 4 wire cable? This will clear mostly everything up!

I built two 3-wire cables. My first one was crappy so I built a legit one. I tired it as a 3, and ski used to a jumper wire to try it as a 4. Neither worked. An I missing a setting in the program or something?

I never got this to work for me, and this is slightly off the subject, but are there any IOS programmers out there?

Here's a "serial" cable for iPhone:

Don't worry, posting worthless stuff like this doesn't show how rude, and socially awkward you are.

My cable works perfectly, you know being the "Grand Wizard".

Keep it up Mr. AYE-Whole.

Yeah spool, any pics? You took enough pics of your car and such, should be able to post pics of how you did this thing that you brought to the table instead of relying on someone else to post up and wait weeks and bump your own thread to ask about.

And I thought "grand wizard" is a title for head honcho of a horrible secret society. I wouldn't associate myself with that title my friend.

You're from Texas. Nice try.

Since it's negative 10 degrees outside all week here in New England (Man country), and I have been moving, I decided to rip out my hard-wired cable so you guys can see what I did, since I'm such an idiot, and have no idea what I'm talking about.

Well, looks like I built my cable just like the schematic says. Just like all of you should do.

Can I go put this thing back in now? Pretty please?

The trouble must be in the cable drivers. A lot of the time auto-update can't find it.

Google "USB2.0-Serial" or "USB-RS232" depending on what version of windows you have.

I am running a core 2 laptop with windows XP pro. Works fine.

If anyone else has a problem with all of the things i have learned from experience, and decided to share for no profit, I'll stop.

Then everyone can go back to getting ripped off at shops, makes no difference to me.
