sc300 vs sc400: in terms of engine swap

I did a quick search, perhaps I wasn't using the right keywords but what I want to know is:

Is there any difference (is it more difficult, require more parts) when comparing the sc300 and the sc400 in terms of swapping a new engine in?

The final goal is an SC with a 1jz swapped. Does the platform matter?

I'm finding more sc400s in better condition at lower cost than sc300s, locally.

SC400 swap to 1jz is slightly more money and pain in the butt with wiring than a SC300 to 1jz swap.

some of the issues will be powering the ignition, A/C lines, power steering, and charging system.

on a SC300. its basically the same as a 1jz car. very little modifications needed since most of the 6 cylinder stuff is the same.

Thank you very much

Does anyone know if the sc400 has more space in the engine bay? I've heard it from someone thats done many 1jz swaps

the physical Car is the same between 300 and 400.

the space the engine takes up if that is what you are referring too... yes the V8 takes up more room thusly leaving you LESS space in the engine bay.

the 300 gives you more room. assuming you are talking about that.

Check out my thread n my signature. I just completed the swap in the 400.. The wiring is doable, but now that it is done, I can give better advice on wiring the ignitor, injectors, and coils. They must have power from a switched source. I also ran into problems with the IACV, but life is good now. I ended up using multiple relays to power these along with the AEM V2. I don't know if you are using the stock ecu or other management type. There is alot of good info in my thread. power steering, ac lines, even getting the AC compressor to come on after the swap..etc..
