Battery light on but alternator and Battery are ok...HELP???

I recently did my head gasket on my 1992 SC300... Upon getting it all back together... I was having some timing issues and was able to resolve them partly with the help of this forum. I do have one other slight issue... Ever since I put the battery back in to start the car after the head gasket job, the battery light immediately illumiated... I had my battery and alternator load tested and they both checked out just fine. My alternater was putting out 14.5 volts and the battery was at 12.5 volts... Doesnt affect the driveability at all but I hate seeing lights on my dash.... Anyone with a solution to this?

I guarantee you its a grounding issue.. I believe there is a ground that goes on the back of the head and one that goes halfway between the intake manifold and the valve covers. I bet you forgot to connect one or both of them.

To check get an ohmeter and check the resistance between the head and the negative battery post. if its anything more than 2ohms then there is a grounding issue.

Thanks man I will get that check asap.... I did have a ground wire coming off my head that I just hooked up to my firewall right by where the engine hareness screws up to the firewall to stay up and out of the way... It was the only place the wire stretched too... I will check out the grounds none the less... Thanks!

Where would this be on a SC400? I've had this issue ever since I got my SC. I've had brand new alternator a couple of times, and now a brand new battery, I even added another alternator wire, and still that damn battery light is still there. At first I thought it was the alternator connector wire, 'cause mine had a lot of oil leak and it baked the insulation of the wires and stripped the wires open, but got that fixed already and the light is still lit. Any help would be great! Thanks!

Im having this issue also, battery is good and alternator is charging. What else besides a ground could be the issue? I dont want to take the alternator out to have it bench tested. Can this light remain on for any other reason?
