Installing Engine with transmission attached
I need to take my car back to the CHP in 2 weeks for an inspection and need to replace my engine to stock.
Can i install the engine with the transmission attached without removing the driveshaft?? If this is possible, how easy it is to slip the yoke into the w58? and would I have driveshaft alignment issues?
or do i need to do it the traditional way, installing the motor, the transmission and the driveshaft separately?
Thanks in advance guys.

Just remove the engine and transmission as one unit, that's how i did it on my swap and wasn't a problem. Hardest part was manuvering the transmission back into place.
removing the driveshaft isn't a big deal. Just disconnect the rear of the driveshaft from the diff and the center carrier bearing from the car and it slides right out. Don't forget to mark the diff and driveshaft so as not to upset the driveshaft balance when you hook everything back up.

Thanks. The engine is already out with the transmission attached to the stock motor. I guess the only option is to remove the driveshaft. Install motor and tranny as a whole then reattach the drive shaft.
