If I remember It was originally for the front turbo water supply its not necessary.

Most of us pull it out and weld, or tap it for a plug.

Its been a long time since I had or even remember The twins

leave it unplugged. from what i can remember from my last 2jz swap/research it is a drain for the water pump if it fails or something like that but be sure to keep it unplugged i'm forsure its a drain that does not connect to anything. I'm looking at my engine right now and it looks just like that.

Ok good to know and I think you are correct as I went out and looked at my engine and the feeds for the stock twins are on the coolant neck coming from the head which I had to have welded shut on mine.
Pic...

sorry wrong info!!! yes that is for the coolant/water for the turbo. plug it up if your single. i just put a bolt in the hose to plug it. the drain that i was talking about that should be unplugged is right behind the pulley.

sorry wong info. plug it up the one on the the waterpump it is water/coolant for the turbo.

also don't use any pepboys rubber vac/hose plugs things. they are not strong and crack after awhile. stick a bolt inside the hose and clamp it.

Wow 7 posts in a big circle to get back to my original suggestion.

If you don't seal up the nipple it will leak immediately this is not a weep hole.

You can pull the stainless nipple out with vice grips by turning it. I pulled the nipple out on mine and then tapped it and installed a stainless steel plug.

The filled holes on the waterneck are the returns from the twins.

no no no.. its the water supply for the front turbo.. not a weep hole..

i would have just ran a clear tube from it to the rad and cranked the motor.. if fluid comes out, VIOLA! questions answered..
