Help! How to install harmonic balancer?? Special tool?
 

I've rented multiple tools to install the harmonic balancer but absolutely not a one fits.... I cannot find one, is there a special Toyota tool?

yes, it looks like a Y kinda. it has multiple holes and 2 oval slots so you can get the bolts on. you can rent it at auto zone or other places. you will also need a tool to hold the balancer secure while you torque the nut down.

I rented two of them, one from advance and one from Pepboys... both the pullers worked but they had the wrong size adapter. I will try Autozone but is there anyone that can link me to the right adapter? I'm at a loss.

i rented mine from auto zone, worked perfectly. its the claw type harmonic balancer, ill try to get the tool number for you if i roll by autozone later today.

shouldn't be that hard to install the balancer...only special tool i used was a hammer and some PB blaster and slides right on. Bigger ***** was trying to remove it which i needed a special tool for. what sort of problems are you having exactly? are you lining up the key hole on the pulley with the crank key? something doesn't sound right...
