Default Clutch Return Spring Problem?

Hi guys,

I just bought an SC300 with a 5 speed, nice! I have driven it for more than 200 miles now and I just encountered a simple problem not sure if it's a one time thing or whatever....

I was moving my Lex into the driveway and noticed the clutch pedal did not fully return. It usually sits at the same level as the brake pedal. But it sat at only halfway. I took a look under to see what was holding it from returning up, nothing. I pulled on the pedal a bit and it came up. So I sat in the seat to press and depress fully the clutch pedal to see if it gets stuck again, it doesn't (yet, maybe).

I saw what looks like a return spring on the assembly (resembles a small strut assembly). I was wondering if these goes weak over time or occasionally need a lubing. I'm assuming that would be the cause.

Yep, basically what I do. I don't think it's holding and riding the clutch at least. I'll probably change the slave cylinder when I'm able to put my car on the lift to work on other minor issues. The fluid needs to be replaced, too. Looks dark for my liking.
