Default Who has done the vvti to non conversion???

Ok guys, I need some info please. I have a JDM aristo gte-VVTI motor that I am currently prepping for install into my SC. I will be running everything off a Motec-M84. I will be going single turbo (BW s300 or s400). I would like to convert to non-VVTI. Who on here has done this and can offer some FACTS on how to properly do this. Ive found multiple threads with some info but nothing seems to be a cut and dry "this is what you need" explanation. For those who are about to say "why not just keep VVTI?" I would like to make between 6-700whp. If someone can show me with facts that this can be done reliably (i'm using that term loosely here lol) than I'm all ears. But please give me facts if possible. I want to thank everyone in advance for any and all info given! I know there is a ton of knowledge on this forum and always appreciate the help given!

If you are running Motec then why would you wanna delete the VVTi?

Sorry i just reliase that M84 doesn't control VVTi, M400 controls VVti not M84

So just unplung it solenoid and it should take care of that for you.

If i were you , since you live in AZ i would get the Proefi since headquater is in AZ. I would even rock the 48. But if you can afford the Motec then why not LOL .

Nice let us know how it goes!

I'm concerned the JDM aristo cams won't support the power I'm looking for. And there seems to be more options for cams for non VVTI. Whats your opinion on the whole matter Quick?

You can actually get VVTi Camshafts now. I am not sure what you are looking for but check my sig i don't have cams on my car yet! i have seen 970whp on jdm cams , so it's all about what you gonna use the car for and how much power you really looking for.
If you can keep the VVTi since you already bought the Engine . Its a though call bro.

It comes down to what ecu you wanna run .

I've already got the M-84 so that's the ECU the car will be using.
I know Titan sells a set of VVTI cams for 1100 bucks but I haven't heard too much about them neg or positive. If I can get away with keeping the stock JDM VVTI cams in there and still making between 6-700whp I'll be plenty happy.....for now

Well it looks like M84 doesn't control variable valve timing so you have to delete the VVTi if you wanna use the M84 ecu or run the M84 as a piggy back .

or Get a non VVTi engine.

Yeah hence my dilema with it being vvti. Can I convert it to non vvti by swapping cams, valve cover, and installing a hall sensor or something similar for a cam pickup?

remove oil feed from bolt going to vvti selenoid . plug the outlet on the block ... remove vvti cam gear and replace with standard cam gear.

No lol it's that that easy my friend , it doesn't work like that. the main issue is the intake cam it's different, it's longer. the new intake cam you will install will need to cut , welded then machine to fit the Head.
I have mine machined by MO at SRT racing , since all he does it na-t IS300.
