I'm wondering if the mk4/sc300 w58's are the same length as the mk3 w58's once i get my sc300 bell housing on it. I'm trying to make a driveshaft, but i dont want to go get it fabbed up unless i know they are the same length from the front of the gearbox to the tip of the tailshaft.

I think the trans are physically the same length. the shifters are different length's though.

that sounds right, I just wanted to be sure before i payed someone to cut up a perfectly good driveshaft and take my money, lol..

i know that the front half of the stock sc300 manual driveshaft is 24 & 1/4 inches long, so i guess if i get the new one fabbed up at that length i should be ok.

Your fronthalf should be 24&3/4 not 24&1/4. Rear trans. houseing is about 12&1/2 inch. to the output shaft seal.
Trans. length is about 26&3/8 inch. from bellhouseing to output shaft seal.
