Running Rich

Running Rich
I have a 1992 SC300 5spd, at 142,000 miles and lately I've noticed it's been running a little rich. My garage smells like a go-kart and I was wondering if any of ya'll were having similar issues. It also seems to be burning through oil a little quickly. Right around 3,000 miles or so I have to top up maybe 1/2 a quart of oil because it will run low. I tend to change my oil every 4,000 miles but I've only had the car for 5 months or so and have only changed the oil once so far.
Are there any common problems that might cause the car to run rich? Or do these cars normally tend to run rich? This is my first time parking it in a garage and it's the first place I've noticed, so I don't know if the car is normally like this or not.
Otherwise I'm in love with the SC, such a timeless design, and parts are about a third of the price as they were for my BMW, so my pocketbook is happier too.
Anyway, if you guys know anything that could help me or point me in the right direction that'd be really helpful.

These cars do run a bit rich from the factory actually. So it might be the cause why it smells like that compared your old car. My exhaust always smells strong as hell haha.
As for the oil part I have no clue, sorry :l
I've always had V8s so its common for them to eat oil, my sc400 actually eats the least ammount of oil compared to my previous cars.
