Default Need a little help - my SC won't respond at all :(

Hey all,

Just flew home today, and took my 97 SC400 out for a quick grocery trip. Everything was fine. Got back in the car, and drove home. again - everything was fine.

The minute I parked & turned the car off, I hit the trunk switch as I usually do to get the groceries out. It didn't respond. I tried to use the remote on my Viper alarm, and it still didn't work.

Then I noticed the master door lock button on the drivers door ALSO did not work. I put the key back in the ignition and turned it to the right. No clicks, no response, no lights, nothing. The key goes all the way to the right, and nothing happens.

The entire car is unresponsive. I'm guessing the alarm may have SOMETHING to do with it, but I'm not too sure.

Any ideas/advice on what to check would be much appreciated!

Sounds like somehow you activated the factory immobilizer. That explains nothing working.

ah; thanks for the lead, I really appreciate it.

Off hand, would you happen to know if disabling said immobilizer is something I can do? Or am I calling for a tow?

Tow truck driver will pay for the damage during his loading or you can MAKE him pay for it.

Ouch, that really sucks . They should have rolled the car onto some boards gradually to keep that from happening.

Yeah the stipulation is don't tow it if you can't do it without breaking it. He damaged it, he pays.

True that. They're not supposed to tow if they can't.

On the other hand, if it ain't the alarm immobilizer, might wanna look into alternator. I had the same thing happen to me a few weeks ago. Dropped my wife off to work, even got gas on my way home, shut the engine off, got home, parked, soon as I shut the engine off again - no response from any electronics, and even the shifter wouldn't shift. Good luck.

I think he has a real AC kit and the tow driver is at fault for the bumper. A stock Z06 sits basically that low too.

Really? I guess that makes sense too.

Maybe you should check the fender well harness?
