lacking power
i have been questioning the power of my sc, only 145k on the GE. i feel like it should have alot more power than what it has now, and for some reason im questioning the dizzy wire plugs (if they're plugged in the correct slots) is there any way of finding out or a diagram of some sort? my idle is above the 700 that it's supposed to be at. could the dizzy plugs be the problem of loss power? it doesnt turn off on me at all, i only drove it a couple miles due to no registration and does fine but power aint at its full potential

I think if the wires were plugged into the wrong plug, it would sound worse then what you explained.
Don't know what model of SC you have, so I assume it's a 400.
Here is a diagram for spark plug wiring that might help.

Have you dont any needed maintaince? Take care of the car and hopefully it'll take care of you.
For high idle the main culprits are dirty iacv, bad maf, old wires or.plugs, or the ecu. Can even be the throttle stop screw which controls your idle with a turn of a screw. Check that oit, mess around with it.

SC400 is generally the same as a SC300.
As, durps said, make sure to clean the IACV. Also make sure the throttle linkage bolt, under the plastic cover above the TPS is tight. That will effect performance.

A 1995 should be the same if you have a 95 and lower I think.

ya imma do my up coming tune up then see how it feels, should be more responsive. and as far as the idle (IACV) i unscrewed the scre almost all the way out and tried to twist it up or down and it felt a little stuck. imma do some more research on that, anybody here have a good thread on the IACV?

another problem i noticed. my car starts up fine, but what also got my attention was say my engine is warm and i give it a quick rev as the rev drops it will go to ab out 300-400 and jump back up to 900. it does it pretty fast. so the idle will drop really quick and increase ack up, could that be a dirty IAC or does the IAC need adjusting?
