hi any help would be great. im almost ready to give up lol. i have a 93 sc400 the ppl that had it befor me didint do anything to it. ok i turn the car on and it starts right up ,but when i give it gas the cel comes on. its throwing a 55 but when i turn it off then back on they go away . the cel only comes on after i give it gas . i turn it on and let it sit and i get no cel . i was thinking my o2 sensors might have gone out or could it be my cats maybe . i duno but i need it to go to work and back so any info would be cool lmk wat yall think . thanks

 

Google search son. Code 55 in a Toyota/Lexus is a knock sensor fault.

 

iv done that and looked all over iv got a new one in it but still comes on

To baro, if you replaced the knock senor and are still getting the same code maybe take it to a toyota dealership?

 

thanks for info . i started it and drove it and it ran god . then after it warmed up the cel came on so it has to be the o2 right ? well ill put new ones in and let yall know how it goes .

 

Code 55 is the rear knock sensor OR the wires. If you replaced the sensor and are still getting that code, the wires need to be checked to make sure they are getting full power.
