Had a similar problem that ended up being the clutch fan about a 70 dollar fix

Are you sure you refilled the power steering correctly and bled correctly? Where is the whine coming from? Mine whined terribly loud when I went to the TT power steering reservior and it wasn't filled / bled properly.

Just as a reminder, our cars use tranny fluid and NOT power steering fluid. I had some squeek problems myself when I filled the PS with real PS fluid and not the right stuff.

Also, check your idler pulley and tensioner. Mine are a bit loud. Rarely when the motor is cold. They get pretty loud after driving a bit and coming to a stop.

so i have checked and properly bled my power steering but i still have the noise.it seems to be louder when i turn on the a/c but its still there even when i turn it off. i can feel a slight vibration on the gear **** too when i get the noise.would it be something to do with my tranny?i bought this car at 190k with no records at all.i have changed just 3 quarts of fluid with toyota stuff as i didnt wanna do a complete flush.im thinking of doing another 3 quarts soon.does anyone think its something to do with my tranny?i have been looking around the engine bay but i have no luck finding the source.
