You might remember reading about the C's supercharged V8 you could get in Japan? Well we have two of them now in Melbourne freshly imported from Japan.
We grabbed one of them on popped it on the dyno against Andy's Eaton supercharged V8.

The C's from Japan used an OEM M90 - fixed snout length - can't be mounted in optimal middle position because the belt has to line up - so the unit is further forward. Andy is using the custom snout version so the blower sits in optimal postion and belt always lines up.

C's had custom ECU work and 3 interceptors.
Andy's uses stock Toyota ECU.

Both cars had standard headers.

C's kit had standard airbox, Andy a BFI.

C's kit was running 8 psi, Andy with 6 psi.

C's pulled 167 rwkw, Andy 171 rwkw.

C's kit was on a 1997 high powered UZZ31 with stock 147 rwkw
Andy's kit on low powered UZZ31 with stock 121 rwkw.

So all up it's looking pretty good.

Pattern maker is making the cast manifold pattern as we speak.

So start saving up - Still looking at $7500 Aud for the parts.

WOW,

Interesting results. Its amazing that similar blower will produce different results.

C's gain a net of 20 rwkw for 8 psi. That mean C's only gain 2.4 rwkw per psi
Andy gain a net of 50 rwkw for 6 psi. That mean Andy gain 8.33 rwkw per psi.

As you can see, the gain is huge between the two systems. With Methanol injection, I would not be surprise to see about 200 rwkw+ in Andy's car. With my ill tuned LS, i got about 20 rwhp per psi with methanol injection..

Peter;

Last week I drove a supercharged C's Celsior (LS400) shipped direct from Japan, this has the additional electronics you mentioned in your report when comparing the C's & Oz built Eaton M90 blower kits.

This old 91/92 car was stunning, the sheer power available on take-off was spinning the wheels through 1st and 2nd (traction OFF), with the traction ON it seemed to bog down way too much so the best take-off was traction OFF and judicious use of the GO pedal to retain traction which was difficult even with 11" wide rear wheels.

I did not have anything to measure the timings or output but comparing this to my stock Soarer V8 and 330bhp Twin Turbo (flywheel figures) the Celsior pissed all over them and did not have the stop/go/stop associated with the turbo engine, It has to be pushing 400bhp/300Kw (flywheel), a figure which would correlate with the 8psi boost running on the C's system.

When Andy did the comparison was it running on a C's installed car or had it been transplanted?

Smiffie is going to install this blower on Yakuza for me in a week or two

Comparison was with a C's kit installed in Japan with all C's electronic gizmo's. I still think a specific Unichip tune would be better.
C's kit similar to Andy's - manifold looked to be of higher quality though.
Latest update:

USA kit need changes to EGR and a USA Eaton delivered blower - I don't know if that kit is available.

Let me know how your install goes and some pics too.

Not much happening with my blower install - maybe early next year I'll get it started up again.
