Yellow low oil level warning light on?
Stock 1993 sc300...So I changed out my cluster bulbs and first drive I take, the yellow oil light on the tach pops on. I pull over and check the oil and according to the dipstick it's only half full.(I had the oil changed on monday) Anyway I added 2 quarts of oil and start it up, no light. Start driving, still no light, the bam lights up. I know its not leaking and shouldnt be burning oil as theres ~600 miles on the motor.
So questions...I searched and read the oil level senser could be bad. Can anyone who has run into this confirm?
The block was punched out .020 over, how much more oil will be needed? I read somewhere that these cars actually take more than 5 quarts?
Does synthetic burn easier than regular oil? Could the motor still being broken in contribute to oil consumption?
The car runs fine and makes no knocking/ticking noises.

that is what I am praying for...the motor purrs like a kitten with no knocks. I'm thinking the light may have been coming on for a while cause I put a white bulb that worked there while I was doing my red cluster bulbs. When I had the break in oil in I was keeping an eye on the levels via dip stick and no leaks and it stayed full the whole 500 miles it was run.

Update: today I didnt see the light until about 10 minutes of driving on my way to work...got to work and oil was still full when I checked. 8 hours later not a drop of fluid under the car, oil is still full after settling, but the light comes on after about 10 minutes of driving.

update...after enough city driving it eventually turns off(work to home is all freeway by the time the car fully warms up) If I keep the rpms at 2800ish the light will stay off. Seema the sensor is being tripped somehow, but works. Ideas?
