Probaly has a low charge, and when you accel the compressor spins faster and can make up for this. Charge it and see if it helps, if it does you have a small leak somewhere.

It's either low on freon, condenser is plugged and blocked by leaves or check if a/c fans are working

I am having the same issue. yesterday I replaced my alternator because the battery completely discharged out of nowhere, and today I swapped batteries because it would not keep a charge. before these two things happened the AC will nice and cold, today it blows ambient temp air till I accelerate. the other thing I've noticed is that the vents have been blowing out brown pieces of foam. Any ideas??

yea no worries, maybe it was clogged and cleared out because it seems to be working fine now. its very strange, i think changing the battery had something to do with it
