Default 2jz-ge Oil Pump life expectancy?

Topic. I know it is old and plan to replace it. Just wondering what people typically get out of them.

Oil pumps should never fail, and should last 2-300,000 miles. It is just a wear item and usually never fails. You will notice a slow decline in oil pressure over time before the pump ruins itself. Your engine can survive this as All cars lose oil pressure when they get old. Some are at 70 psi @ idle cold start, some are at 40 psi and still run the same.

RB oil pumps fail all the time!

Generally the JZ's components along with the block strength, are incredibly robust.

Well see once you start pushing your engines limits, anything can fail.

Reason I ask is the motor is completely rebuilt, but I didnt want to blow it by using a 20 year old oil pump in it...I ordered a new aisin one already, just wasn't sure if I needed to install it asap or could wait a bit after I get the car back

Install a new pump, do not use a used one. When you think about it, when your breaking that thing in, you want to know you got excellent high oil pressure. A used oil pump will probaly be around 25-50% of the pressure a new one could have. At idle that is, at high rpm probaly a 20-30% Difference
