Default 97 sc300 cranks but won't start

My sc has been sitting in my driveway for about 3 weeks. I went to go start it yesterday and it won't start. The engine turns but it sounds like I have no compression. It seems like all
I hear is the starter spinning the motor. I have half a tank of gas. I was driving the car a couple of weeks ago. I have no check engine light either. Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated. Btw the car is all stock.

While the car is trying to start the noise I get is really weird. It's not your typical winding noise that happens when you are starting a car. It's just a single tone noise.

If you can upload a video of the noise, that would possibly make it easier to see what might be going on.

sounds like you're describing a non-interference engine cranking with a broken timing belt.

post a video.

Will post video this morning. Pulled the timing belt cover off and the belt is chewed up about 1/8th of an inch on the forward side. I checked it about 20k miles ago and it was almost brand new. My buddy recently changed the crank pulley for me as the harmonic balancer gave out.

Yeah, sounds like a broken timing belt. But on my gs300 i had the same problem and it was a coroded ground wire. Cleaned it off, charged the battery and it was fine.
