How Much Power

How much power could I expect my SC300 NA-T to make at the wheels? It's a 5 speed (upgraded clutch) with a stock GE, 67mm turbo, TT head gasket, APR head studs, 550cc injectors, and a MAPECU1. Everything else is stock. The car will be on 93 octane pump gas.

how much boost do you plan to run?

super300 Apr 3, 2012 09:12 AM

As much as I can possibly run safely. I don't know whatmy limit is with stock timing and fuel besides the 550s.

Bigzavs Apr 3, 2012 09:29 AM

with a similar setup, except for 63mm and a stock fuel pump i did 366whp at 12psi. the stock pump is really going to hold you back

I thought the timing was going to give me a problem, not the fuel pump. Is it possible for me to get into the 400s with the stock pump/timing?

its most likely possible, but the pump on mine would drop pressure past 340whp

Alright, thanks. Anyone else have any experience?

just swap in a walbro it only takes about an hour leisurely and they are about 100$ pretty cheap and easy and then you dont have to worry about it

Getting tuned with no pump on that turbo is a waste of money and dyno time. You'll spend less than $100 on a 255 or spend a liiiiittle more and get the 400 lph. That turbo won't even come alive until you give it enough fuel to really get it breathing.

i still have stock fuel in mine at 350 hp and im pulling fuel in boost... i think you all are confused. He has bigger injectors and lower compression.

Bigzavs Apr 3, 2012 02:56 PM

your pump doesnt have to work as hard to keep pressure to your stock injectors, with larger injectors, the pump will begin to lose pressure above where your power level is. I had a pressure gauge on my fuel rail, and could watch the pressure start to drop once i got over 6,000 rpms

Im just saying ive tuned cars with the stock fuel pump and bigger injectors. Hes not shooting that high. Doesnt mean i dont think he COULD use one, just saying it doesnt have to be the crux.

Can anyone recommend me a pump? I'll most likely be buying from MVPMotorsports.

Is there anything I should know or do when changing the pump or is it literally just a swap from one to the other, plugnplay?

And will I be experiencing any trouble with my stock timing, since I can't retard it with the MAPECU?

Is the Walbro 400lph from MVP any good? It's the first one on this page:
